Just Keep Swimming, originally uploaded by paul.hailes.

Todays photo was taken at the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens. This is a photo of a jellyfish. I was not sure how this photo would come out considering it was extreemly dark and it was behind glass. I am working on finalizing some events that I will be doing in the near future, one of which is my showing at Starbucks. In June I should be returning to Breedlove to help them unveil their new production line, I also have some other things in the works for over the summer so stay tuned for whats to come.

Todays photo was taken on my recent trip to Albuquerque and my visit to the botanical gardens there. The botanical gardens were amazing, they had an contest going on while I was there and I got to see tons of beautiful flowers. I dont remember where I actually saw this flower but it sure does make a striking image.

The Orbans

Todays photos are of the band The Orbans.  The Orbans played at the Chrome LIVE event this past weekend.    The Orbans and Estelline were the two groups that I got the most pictures I think it was because they were the most photogenic bands and the most interesting to listen to.  I found that if I didn’t enjoy the music as much I didn’t stick around as long, I would wonder off to go take pictures of people painting their TOMS.  The other day I mentioned that I was looking into Concert Photography, this is not a fling I am actually looking into this…. so if anyone knows a band that is in need of some photos let me know.

Todays photos are of the band Thrift Store Cowboys.  The Thrift Store Cowboys were one of the bands that performed at the Chrome LIVE event this past weekend.  I have found a new interest which I am beginning to look into and that is concert photography, it combines two of my favorite things photography and music.  In my mind if you can find a way to get paid to do what you love you’ve got it made.  Last week I gave away a 16×20 print to one of my fans on Facebook for referring people to my Fan Page.  I am planing on continuing these contests and giveaways, so for those who read these daily posts what would you like the next contest to be?

Got To Have A Banjo In The Band, originally uploaded by paul.hailes.

Todays photo is from the Chrome LIVE event I shot this past weekend.  This photo is of one of my friends Jack Jones, who is in the band Estelline.  Estelline is a local Lubbock band who has a great sound, they are looking to go on a summer tour, so look for them in your city.  There were a lot of great bands at this event, such as Matt Costa and Ben Kweller but my favorite band was Estelline, they just have a unique sound that I find attractive.  Anyways Chrome LIVE was a great chance for me to do some networking, I have to thank Kiko Velez who on his radio show after the event had some great things to say about Paul Hailes Photography. For those of yall who have maybe not been paying attention in the past week or so I launched a new website, www.paulhailesphotography.com. Now I will continue to use this site as my daily blog, so if yall are worried about not getting your daily dose of me, be at ease im not going anywhere. The new site I launched is going to be the face of my network of sites. Here is a list of sites that you should check out if you have some time….

Chrome LIVE, originally uploaded by paul.hailes.

This past weekend I had the opertunity to shoot the Chrome LIVE event. It was one of the coolest events I have ever been to, for those that do not know Chrome LIVE is a TOMS Shoes event where people can come and paint their TOMS while listening to some great music. The event started at 10:30 and ended at 7:00, needless to say I was tired when it was over. For more pictures of Chrome LIVE go to www.paulhailesphotography.com or www.facebook.com/paulhailesphotography.

The Winter Forest

Todays photo is from my trip to the Jemez Mountains. We were driving along when I saw all this snow and trees and had to stop to get a shot. For those that live in snow half of the year this might not be a new thing to you, but even though Lubbock got a lot of snow this year I dont see that much of it. When I went out to take this picture I almost got stuck in the snow, it was much deaper then you would have expected. Anyways, I launched a new website last night, and I must say its pretty sweet, check it out at www.paulhailesphotography.com
